Vol. 8 [Lifestyle] Using ChatGPT for Color Analysis and Styling Tips
- Personal color/seasonal color is a concept widely known through the theory introduced in the American book Color Me Beautiful.
- It refers to the colors that suit you best: colors that bring out your facial features, complement your face shape, and help you look confident, healthy, and polished.
- Using personal color can be helpful when styling yourself for an important occasion. It has the strongest effect when applied to clothing, especially items worn close to the face, such as tops, ties, scarves, and mufflers. It can also be applied to color makeup and outerwear.
- A personal color analysis is conducted based on a person’s natural physical coloring, using draping — placing diagnostic fabrics directly below the face to observe changes in complexion, facial features, and face shape.
- The standard and most accurate method is to receive an in-person draping analysis from a well-trained and experienced professional.
However, as a more casual and accessible option, it can also be fun and helpful to upload your photos to ChatGPT, identify your personal color, and find practical tips for applying the result to your styling.
Please note that photos and data uploaded to the online version of ChatGPT may be shared with the ChatGPT's system.
Steps
- Take a selfie in natural light, with no color makeup on your face, while facing the sun.
- On the device you used to take the photo, tap the photo and go to the “Info” or “Properties” section marked with an “i.” Find the white-balance information from the time the photo was taken. Each time a photo is taken, the device processes white balance to adjust the color tone.
