MegazoneCloud — Quantum & Cloud Strategy Day

• On March 10, MegazoneCloud—where Dr. Brad Kim (ECE ’01) serves as CQO—hosted a “Quantum & Cloud Strategy Day” at the Megazone Industry–Academia–Research Center. The event welcomed 37 attendees, including 33 UT McCombs MBA students along with faculty advisors and other guests.
• The seminar, which invited MBA students to participate, examined the industrial applications of quantum technologies and strategic corporate responses from the perspective of experienced business and management leaders.
• Presentations highlighted real-world applications of quantum technologies, including nickel catalyst reaction simulations for new drug and advanced materials development by AstraZeneca and IonQ, ExxonMobil’s optimization of LNG distribution networks, and implementation cases from global companies such as JPMorgan and Toshiba. These examples illustrated how quantum technologies are being explored across industries including pharmaceuticals, energy, and finance.
• Dr. Brad Kim (ECE ’01), CQO of MegazoneCloud, said he hopes the visit will help students view quantum computing through the lens of real-world industry strategy, adding that the company plans to continue expanding collaboration with global universities and research institutions.
