Vol. 1 [Publisher's Letter]
John Kim (PGE '05), President of UTAKA, Publisher of SXSK

As President of the University of Texas at Austin Korea Alumni Association and as Publisher, I sincerely congratulate the launch of the inaugural issue of SXSK.

SXSK is a community media platform initiated by and for alumni of the University of Texas. Through this publication, we hope to promote and elevate the spirit of freedom and pioneering innovation that we learned in Texas, and in doing so, contribute in a small but meaningful way to helping Korea take a more proactive role amid rapidly changing global dynamics.

In particular, we plan to actively embrace technological advancements—especially in the field of artificial intelligence—and use this platform to experiment with new forms of media that deliver maximum diversity and enjoyment with minimal effort.

Our inaugural Editor-in-Chief, Ji Hyun Ahn, is a distinguished alumna who studied at Myungduk Foreign Language High School, Yonsei University, and earned her master’s degree at the University of Texas at Austin, specializing in language and communication. I am confident that she is the ideal person to expand the scope of this emerging community media through creative experimentation. I kindly ask all alumni to actively support her efforts by responding to requests for interviews and materials.

Since January 2025, our alumni association has been moving forward without pause. If last year was a period of rebuilding and stabilization, I believe that 2026 will mark the beginning of a new chapter—one in which our association rises to become the leading alumni community in Korea.

I encourage all of you to take pride as alumni of the University of Texas and continue to shine in your respective fields, bringing honor to our school and our community.

Thank you.
